Ron Fortier has always sought out new compositional approaches. At one time, it was through abstract expressionist investigations. More recently, it is through socially conscious expressionism.

In his new work, he revisits historical episodes and family stories. Ron probes these highly emotional, dark places and puts himself in those spaces and times to authentically share the agony of his explorations and subjects with viewers of his work.
