About the Series
The Charity Ann Series revisits the story passed down from generation to generation of the enslaved third great-grandmother of the artist’s wife. Her two daughters were sold away from her to Reverand Isaiah Parker of Harris County, Georgia. Charity Ann is the artist’s wife’s second great-grandmother. She is the matriarch of the Parker line. Her mother’s name and her sister’s names are unknown.
